About CEFAR

 

Maejo University, MJU, would like to promote and enhance the capacity of research and innovation using agriculture as fundamental activities for development in order to be recognized in both national and international levels. To reach this goal, MJU has supported the centers of excellence to produce agricultural research and its innovation.

Working together with MJU, the Faculty of Fisheries Technology and Aquatic Resources set up the Center of Excellence in Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (CEFAR) to develop the research and innovation in fisheries and aquatic resources in order to support the demands of communities and country in terms of academic and commercial purposes. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are our targets.

The mentors are provided to support the members to collaborate in interdisplinary research to become a more productive researcher for sustainable development of institution.
 
 

Objectives

  1. To conduct a research relating to fisheries and aquatic resources to solve farmers’ problems and support the needs of communities and country;
  2. To seek research funding and build the collaboration with private and government sectors both national and international levels;
  3. Transfer research results through research publication and textbooks;
  4. Develop products and fisheries innovations to be commercialized;
  5. Provide a platform to create a new young researcher to produce the quality research acceptable both national and international levels.

Outcomes

  1. Research in fisheries and aquatic resources to solve problems and support the needs of society;
  2. Research funding supported by external organizations;
  3. Research network collaboration both national and international levels;
  4. National and international research publication;
  5. Income from innovative products;
  6. Members are able to get involved
